PUWER Assessment

If your employees use machinery, tools or other work equipment, a PUWER assessment can help identify risks and highlight where improvements may be needed to keep equipment safe to use.

Under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, employers have a duty to make sure work equipment provided for employees is suitable, properly maintained and safe for its intended use.

A PUWER assessment looks at how equipment is used in your workplace and whether suitable measures are in place to protect the people operating, maintaining or working around it.
